Life at Nasuulu

Where nature quietly shapes each day.

Life at Nasuulu Lodge follows the rhythm of the bush. Some days unfold quietly, while others turn into small adventures.

Guided bush walks around the lodge allow guests to experience the landscape up close. Walking through the acacia bush reveals animal tracks, birds, and the subtle details of the environment that are often missed from a vehicle.

Camel riding offers another beautiful way to explore the area. Camels have long been part of life in northern Kenya, and travelling through the landscape on camelback is both peaceful and memorable.

Guests who have their own vehicle can also explore the area with a local wildlife spotter, whose knowledge of the land and animals often turns a simple drive into an unforgettable experience.

The river below the lodge is another special place. Some guests swim, others sit quietly watching birds and wildlife that come to drink as the day moves slowly by.

A typical Day at Nasuulu

Mornings at Nasuulu begin with the soft sounds of the bush. Birds call from the acacia trees and the air is still cool before the sun rises higher over the plains. Many guests start the day with coffee or tea on their terrace, watching the landscape slowly wake.

After breakfast, a guided walk through the surrounding bush often reveals a different side of Samburu. Tracks in the sand, birds moving through the trees, and the small details of the landscape begin to tell their stories.

Later in the day there is time to relax. Some guests spend time reading on the terrace, others wander down to the river where birds and animals pass through during the heat of the afternoon.

As the sun begins to lower and the air cools again, the bush comes alive once more. Guests may take another walk, ride camels across the landscape, or explore the area with a local spotter.

Evenings at Nasuulu are quiet and unhurried. As the sun disappears behind the hills, dinner is served and the sounds of the African night slowly take over.

With only three cottages, days at Nasuulu rarely follow a strict schedule. Each stay finds its own rhythm, shaped by the landscape, the wildlife, and the people you meet along the way.
